Born and raised in Hawaii, Andy Vierra got into radio while attending the University of Hawaii, Manoa. At the age of 24 he was named Program Director for Hawaii's foremost news-talk station, KGU, making him at the time the youngest "PD" in the format nationwide. Andy Moved to "the mainland" in 1986 to take a job at Reno's top news-talk station, KOH. From there he went on to programming stints in the Los Angeles area and Santa Barbara before coming to Las Vegas. He's been Program Director for KNUU since 1999.
Jerry had to interrupt his radio career to finish High School (He started on the air at the age of 15).
Jerry's been at KNUU since 1995 after spending 20 years in San Francisco doing news and entertainment reporting on the ABC Owned radio and TV stations there. He also was a personality on Gene Autry's KSFO. Jerry has been on the air in Boston, Orlando, Sacramento, San Antonio and Columbus over the years. He does national voice over work, including being the voice of Disney for over ten years.
Gail has been involved with radio since the early 70's as a program director for two different country music stations. Then worked for a classic rock station through the 80's in promotions and commercial production. And in the 90's became the Production Director for a popular news and information station in the Pacific Northwest. In 2004, with a desire for more sunshine, moved to sunny Las Vegas and became the Production Director for KNUU.
Jim has worked in radio broadcasting for the past 30 years and started at his college station. He has been a radio owner and manager and has worked in New Jersey, Utah, Washington and Oregon. Jim and his wife moved to Nevada in 2006. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Green Valley and recently completed a term on the board of directors of the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
Santo brings over 25 years of marketing and sales experience to KNUU. He moved to Las Vegas in June 2004, from the Boston area where he owned and operated a successful franchise print company. In addition to the graphic arts industry, Santo has also worked in travel. He and his wife live in the Aliante community of North Las Vegas.
Barbel grew up and was educated in Germany. In her early twenties she began traveling worldwide, one of her many passions. She has called Las Vegas base for 30 years. Being adventurous and seeking to apply her many learned skills from different areas throughout life she decided to join KNUU in the end of 2004. Her passion for continuous personal development and growth have motivated her to produce her own radio show called RadianlyU. Listen to it Sunday mornings at 9 am.
Mort's 20 years at KNUU radio combined with his 40 years in broadcasting in both sales and as a talent in radio and television has earned him recognition by his peers. He was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters hall of fame and received the ambassador of courtesy award by the Las Vegas Chamber Of Commerce.
